It was a remarkable day at Kaduna State University (KASU), as the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa, officially commissioned a world-class gate remodeled and restructured by the Kaduna State University Alumni Association under the stewardship of the National President, Mal. Abdulhadi Abdullahi.
The grand opening ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including the university’s Registrar, Barr. Samira Balarabe (Gimbiyar Kubau); the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Yushau Ango; Chief Security Officer, Mal. Ahmed Yabagi; alongside Alumni Executives, staff, and students of the university.
In his remarks, the National President stated, “Today is a beautiful day not just for the Alumni Executives and members, but for the management, staff, students of the university, and Kaduna State at large.” He thanked Almighty Allah for the successful execution of the project and acknowledged the guidance and leadership of the Vice Chancellor.
The Vice Chancellor expressed his delight at this outstanding achievement, describing it as a watershed moment in the university’s history. He encouraged the alumni association, as critical stakeholders, to do more to promote as well as advance the institution’s image.
Following, DVC, Strategy, Innovation, and Service Delivery, Prof. Helen Afang Andow, praised the Alumni Association for reaching such a significant milestone. She noted that, upon her arrival at the university, she had not previously been aware of the association’s vibrant existence and initiative.
Currently, there is an ongoing initiative to partner with a philanthropist to remodel KASU’s second gate, further modernizing the campus infrastructure. Over the years, the KASU Alumni Association has made substantial contributions, including scholarships for students, development of critical infrastructure, as well as installation of solar power for street lighting and board rooms.
